Dodds Associates are qualified Chartered Engineers and members of the Association for Project Safety (APS).

We are Engineering Consultants and Designers and also hold Health & Safety IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications, backed up by our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.

It is your responsibility to appoint a CDM Principal Designer  from design stage to completion of every construction job that will last for more than 30 days with over 20 persons on site, or more than 500 person days. We have the experience to ensure that your project is fully compliant with current legislation.

Our CDM Principal Designer fees are very competitive and we are known for providing a value for money service.

Our duties as your CDM Principal Designer under CDM 2015 include:


  • Advise and assist the client of their duties
  • Notify the HSE
  • Co-ordinate Health and Safety aspects of design work and co-operate with others involved with the project
  • Facilitate good communication between client, designers and contractors
  • Liaise with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design
  • Identify, collect and pass on pre-construction information
  • Prepare and update the Health and Safety file
